Pawan Kumar Sehrawat was on the 9th of July 1996 in New Delhi, India. At the age of 12, he began playing kabaddi. And, He was awarded many awards in his college and school years. Pawan was influenced most by his father. He was employed in the Indian Railways TT post during his second year of graduation. This forced him to abandon his studies. In an Interview Pawan tells;
“I was quite healthy as a kid, and it was quite natural that I used to do well against the thinner kids on the kabaddi mat. But it wasn’t till I was in the ninth standard that I thought of playing it seriously. No one in my family has played the sport, so we didn’t think of it as a career,” Pawan remembers. Pawan first played at the school Nationals, and then in the All India University Games.
Pro Kabaddi Career
The aggressive raider made his debut in the 3rd season of the Pro Kabaddi League, but his breakthrough came in the 6th season were finished as the leading point scorer and took home the MVP award as well. Sehrawat made a record of scoring 22 points in the Pro Kabaddi final.
He was picked by Bengaluru Bulls in season 3 and since then he has been with the bulls except in season 5 where he moved to Gujarat Fortune Giants. He was called back by Bengaluru again.
Having showcased his skills in the initial three seasons of Pro Kabaddi, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat took the world by storm in Pro Kabaddi League Season 6. Playing for Bengaluru Bulls, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat was the top-scoring raider in the season, earning as many as 282 points in 24 appearances.

Pawan’s mother encouraged him to put a lot of emphasis on education. His mother used to say a famous Hindi phrase: “Padhoge Likhoge To Banoge Nawabs” meaning that if you are good at studying, you will be respected. Therefore, She wanted me to do well in school. It wasn’t something I enjoyed as much. I also don’t like to work too hard. He says that he used to play Kabaddi in school.
Pawan had to take up responsibility at the age of 18. And, His father’s plastic recycling factory shut down, leaving the family living on the earnings from a small grocery shop. Pawan later dropped out of college when he got a job as a TTE with the Indian Railways due to Kabaddi. Once his financial woes got over, Pawan did go and complete his under graduation with Delhi University.
